Manufacturer United Wagon Co, leasing company TransFin-M and freight forwarding company FT Logistic have signed an agreement for the supply of 200 Type 11-6874 covered vans by the end of next year.

Intended for carrying large lightweight or heavy small-sized goods, the wagons have 25 tonne axleload bogies and a capacity of 73 tonnes or 175 m3.

The doors are larger than on older designs, and there are four hatches on the roof and sides for loading of bulk freight.

The wagons are designed for a maintenance interval of up to 1 million km or eight years, compared to up to 160 000 km or three years for conventional designs.

‘We are well acquainted with the new generation Tikhvin-produced cars, and have been operating them in our company’s fleet since 2017’, said Ekaterina Smirnova, CEO of FT Logistic, on August 10. ’Thanks to our positive experience of operating Tikhvin-produced cars and the financial support from our long standing partner TransFin-M, we have been able to choose UWC from among several offers available on the market and quickly close the deal.’
