VTG Rail Russia, which leases its rolling stock to customers in the Russian market, has ordered around 100 flat cars from Russian manufacturer UWC. The wagons will be used to transport freight containers.

The partnership between VTG and UWC began back in 2017. Over the next year, VTG Russia will acquire a large number of flat cars to upgrade its fleet.  Including those already delivered, a total of 350 innovative freight cars manufactured by the Tikhvin production site will be supplied.

The flat car is equipped with Model 18-9855 bogies with an axle load of 25 t and will run on guaranteed distances up to 6,500 km between maintenance stops without stops en route, UWC said.
