Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant has been qualified for the ISO 9001:2008
The certification audit was carried out at the Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant in order to prove its accordance with the quality management standard requirements of the ISO 9001:2008. The audit is a part of design and implementation process for the business management system which is based on the International Railway Industry Standard IRIS.
Audited by the international certification body DQS GmbH, Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant certification has been qualified for the ISO Certificate of Conformity for the existing quality management standard ISO 9001:2008 in the field of production, sales, supply and maintenance service for the up-to-date railway rolling stock. Tikhvin plant has also been qualified with a uniform certificate of the major international certification network, IQNet, with more than 30 leading certification member bodies in the world.
The auditors appreciated high automation level of the plant, along with implementation of the advanced information systems and highly professional personnel and agreed that these factors guarantee consistently high quality of the production.
The certification is the latest in the series of stages of the integrated business management control system construction and preparation for the audit, planned for 2013, to prove the enterprise's accordance with IRIS industrial standard requirements.
“DQS specialists’ estimation showed us the effectiveness of the business management structure being applied at the plant. The first step of the business management structure implementation was to implement ERP-system, due to the system we organized a modern information-and-operating management complex in compliance with advanced international practice”, - said Oleg Menshikov, Operations Director, Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant.
Michael Zalunaev, DQS-UL Russia CEO, gave a high rating to the management systems implementation level at Tikhvin plant. “This is a unique “green field” project for today Russia. It is quite rare to see such a plant, especially in the machinery, which uses modern technologies, equipment and management experience. And, what is the most important, is its personnel. Here is a unique managing team at the plant that has experience either of foreign or national enterprises. After the audit and meetings with the specialists, we are sure the plant will successfully work its way through the difficulties connected with start-up of a new production, and will meet the expectations of its clients regarding the output of the high-grade and innovative production”.
