TikhvinSpetsMash obtains ISO 9001 certification
The quality management system of JSC TikhvinSpetsMash (a manufacturing enterprise, part of the railway holding, United Wagon Company) has been certified compliant with requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 international standard and the GOST R ISO 9001-2015 interstate standard.
Certification confirms that TikhvinSpetsMash’s management system, including its governance, support, and industrial processes, meets the requirements of ISO 9001. Areas of the business that were assessed during certification include quality control, management of human resources, infrastructure, and the production environment, as well as metrological support, and procurement of materials and components.
TikhvinSpetsMash will now prepare to be audited for compliance with requirements of the IRIS (the International Railway Industry Standard).
Mikhail Zalunaev, head of the Russian branch of the certification authority DQS, said: "ISO 9001 is a universal standard for building a quality management system, which serves as guidance for hundreds of thousands of businesses around the world. We are pleased to confirm that TikhvinSpetsMash has successfully passed its quality audit, following the example of the Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant and TikhvinChemMash, and further reinforcing the established management practice of railcar manufacturing at enterprises that are part of United Wagon Company."
TikhvinSpetsMash is a new enterprise for the manufacture of specialized rolling stock with increased payloads. It is currently producing various types of flat cars for transportation of timber as well as box cars. The product range will be expanded in the future to include isothermal railcars and dumpcars.
The quality management system at TikhvinSpetsMash has been designed to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. The system ensures that the needs of customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders are efficiently and consistently met, as well as enabling TikhvinSpetsMash to reduce costs and optimize its business processes, generating confidence among the Company’s partners on Russian and international markets. The GOST R ISO 9001-2015 standard is identical in its requirements to the international standard ISO 9001:2015.
