TVSZ management system keeps high level of compliance with IRIS standard

JSC “Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant” (TVSZ, it is part of the railway holding UWC) has successfully underwent recertification audit of the system of business management on its compliance with the requirements of international standard of railway industry IRIS. Following the results of the audit, IRIS certificate was extended for a new three-year certification validity term.

The audit was performed by the specialists of the Russian branch of DQS Holding GmbH – international certification body. The actual level of maturity of TVSZ management system according to IRIS Audit-Tool (automatic ranking assessment of an enterprise) has been increased up to 73%. It is one of the highest indicators among domestic companies, possessing IRIS certificate.

Mikhail Zalunayev, the head of the Russian branch of certification body DQS, stated: “Three years have passed from the time when TVSZ successfully underwent the first certification audit according to IRIS standard. High efficiency of the system of business management and the staff’s involvement in the processes of enterprise management – are the factors that have determined a positive dynamics of our ranking assessment”.

In 2016 Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant will continue to implement actions, intended to maintain a high level of products quality and improve production technologies in order to further reduce production prime costs and optimize the use of production resources.

International Railway Industry Standard was developed at the initiative of UNIFE based on standards ISO 9000 series. The standard determines requirements to the manufacturers of railway equipment and suppliers of components for railway industry enterprises. The introduction of IRIS standard allows to reduce expenses throughout whole product life cycle and to boost competitive ability of manufacturers. Currently more than 90 enterprises, situated on the territory of the CIS countries, have been certified according to IRIS standard.
