UWC Enterprises to Suspend Operations
The Enterprises of Public Joint Stock Company «Research and production corporation «United Wagon Company» (“UWC” or the “Group”) (MOEX: UWGN), the largest producer of freight cars in Russia1, located at the industrial sites in Tikhvin and Izhevsk, are suspending their operations for the period from March, 30 to April, 3.
Pursuant to the Executive Order of the Russian President “On Declaring Non-Working Days in the Russian Federation” and in order to ensure sanitary and epidemiological safety of the employees, non-working days with full pay are declared for UWC enterprises in Tikhvin and Izhevsk, as well as for Moscow and St. Petersburg subdivisions from March, 30 to April, 3 inclusive. Due to a specific nature of a full-cycle production, the railcar building enterprises of the Group in Tikhvin will resume full operation on April, 6.
The work of duty shift services that ensure trouble-free operation and safety at production sites shall remain uninterrupted.
Employees and their family members are advised to avoid traveling outside their cities and refrain from visiting public places over the next week.
To prevent coronavirus infection and its spread among the employees of UWC, an emergency response team has been functioning in the Group's structural divisions since March. We have intensified disinfection measures in the premises, introduced a 24-hour body temperature measurement, cancelled all business trips and public events and now conduct our corporate meetings virtually. Employees are regularly informed of the essential measures for coronavirus prevention by means of all available channels.
