Box car, model 11-6874
Description
Universal boxcar with 175-m³ body space has the best combination of main technical-economic characteristics amongst freight cars-counterparts existing on the market. Payload capacity of 73 t increased by 7% compared to standard boxcars. The size of the doorway opening provide for carrying out of loading-unloading operations with all existing types of automatic loaders.
A significant competitive advantage of the freight car are the terms of between-repair runs, contributing to the reduction, by almost 3 times, of the freight car life cycle costs. Freight car length over pulling faces of couplers provides for the optimal conditions during shunting on rail sidings and elevated structures, during loading-unloading operations and weighing.

Opinions
Alexander Korolev, CEO at Sibirsky Krai
“The Tikhvin-produced cars have shown high performance levels. They carry a higher load and transport higher volumes without breaking down. These cars are not only an effective means of transportation, but an attractive investment, as they help to optimize expenditure on freight transportation and fleet servicing”.
Dmitry Bychkov, Head of box car division at Kuchukterminal
“Our company is developing rapidly. We have been putting consistent effort into increasing our cargo fleet, in which box cars, including new generation cars manufactured in Tikhvin, represent a significant share. Cooperation between our companies has been growing for some years now, and our experience of operation of UWC’s railcars has shown how they are more efficient and reliable than similar models available in the market. I am sure that the expansion of our fleet of new generation cars will further raise the level of our services rendered by us both in Russia and the near abroad”.
Sergey Sapozhnikov, CEO at RailSpetsTrans
“Our company specializes in domestic and international freight shipping in box cars. When developing our fleet, we look first and foremost to the technical specifications and economic performance of the rolling stock. The box cars produced at TikhvinSpetsMash meet our standards, which are high. We are currently awaiting the first consignment and look forward to developing our partnership in the future”.

“We are already familiar with Tikhvin freight cars. Last year we purchased a large batch of freight cars for timber from UWC. Now it is time to update box cars fleet. The main objective of such action is to provide our clients with a high quality rolling stock, the very rolling stock that is built in Tikhvin”.
