The freight car construction design ensures cargo integrity during transportation: the inside part of the freight car remains dry despite precipitation; it is equipped with tie down loops on the walls to secure the cargo. The increase in the volume of the transported cargo and loading area of the floor are achieved due to the maximum width of the body and minimum width of the side walls. The absence of protruding elements of the inner surface of the freight car body provides safety of the transported cargo. Tide down loops are located inside the side walls posts. A wider doorway opening simplifies loading-unloading operations and provides for a possibility of sealing and closing with a lock. The floor is made of “corrugated” sheet. It provides for a better adhesion of the cargo with the floor or loader, during loading/unloading.

The freight car is equipped with four loading hatches, platforms of the roof and a ladder on the end wall to access the roof.

The size of the doorway opening provide for carrying out of loading-unloading operations with all existing types of automatic loaders. There are hatches of valve gates type, not going beyond the freight car clearance in the open state; hatches construction design provides, if necessary, the mode of airing of the freight car body inner surface.

Innovative bogie improves dynamic characteristics of the freight car, enhances safety of its operational use, increases between-repairs run and decreases life cycle costs of the product as a whole.

The coupler pulling face is equipped with a modern draft gear of T1 class, which reduces the level of longitudinal forces, acting on the freight car. There is also an improved uncoupling drive on the freight car, preventing the coupler pulling face from falling on the track in case of breakage in an emergency.

Brake system is completed with modern brake devices which between repairs term is not less than 8 years, fittings for the threadless connection of brake pipelines, wear-resistant plugs made of composite pressing material (CPM) on the basis of formaldehyde resins, providing a run resource not less than 1 mln km. A system of independent two cylinder braking is applied for the box car of model 11-6874, which provides more advantageous braking conditions, possesses higher efficiency and reliability in comparison with a traditional braking system.
