Hopper car for transportation of grain, model 19-9549
Description
New generation hopper car for transportation of grain of model 19-9549 is equipped with 25 tf bogie.
With an increased body space of 120 м³ and a load capacity of up to 76 t, the freight car can be efficiently used to transport a large variety of lightweight grains and their derivatives. The two innovative lock and seal devices allow the car’s loading and unloading hatches to be safely and rapidly locked up, reducing the costs of security sealing and saving the time during loading and unloading operations.
Increased terms of between-repairs run, which provide for the reduction of the freight car life cycle costs by almost 3 times, are a considerable competitive advantage of the freight car of model 19-9549.
Hopper car for transportation of grain is completely compatible with the existing infrastructure and can be operated at all types of loading-unloading terminals.

Opinions
Vasily Razumov, Operations Director of Logistics 1520
“The products of the United Wagon Company are well known to us. A year ago, the first agreement on the supply of a large batch of innovative hopper cars produced by Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant was signed. Over this period we have tested rail cars in carrying both grain and mineral chemical cargoes. The operating results fully met our expectations. Owning to innovative rail cars, we have significantly improved our transportation efficiency. This is the reason why we have decided to re-expand the company's fleet with new UWC serial wagons”.
Andrey Galaburdin, Procurement Director, ASTON Group
“ASTON is a major agricultural producer cultivating grains, pulses and oil crops on its fields, as well as buying products from local farmers. In our business, it is very important to consider environmental safety and environmental neutrality, so the company pays special attention to logistics, optimising transport routes and shortening the supply chains. The acquisition of such a large batch of rail rolling stock will enable us to increase cargo turnover while reducing the carbon footprint, as well as to develop cooperation with agricultural producers in different regions”.
Marina Turyanskaya, Director of Trade House RIF
“Our company is taking active steps to develop its partner relations with suppliers from different regions of Russia, and is seeking to provide optimal prices, comfortable working conditions and efficient transportation, with the freight delivered to its destination intact and in a timely manner. The UWC grain railcars meet our high expectations in full and allow us to cope with the increasing cargo traffic using a reduced fleet of cars, which enables us to cut down expenditures in turn and to maintain prices for our services at their targeted levels”.
Timur Berdimbetov, Deputy CEO, Corporate Finance of Tehnotrans
“Our company is a partner of major agricultural enterprises. The quality and commercial characteristics of the fleet are of key importance to us, they allow us to gain a competitive advantage in the market. Therefore, it was decided to work with UWC. I am sure that innovative rail cars are the thing of the future, and I am glad we are creating it together”.

Marat Shaydaev, CEO at United Grain Company
“At present, our company is shaping its own freight cars fleet. We have held a contest, and Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant, which is part of UWC, has won it. We bought 500 freight cars in February; the cars have proved to function very well. By March next year, our fleet will have increased up to 1500 freight cars”.
