Multi-purpose flat car, model 13-6851/13-6851-04
Description
New generation multi-purpose platform (model 13-6851/13-6851-04) with 25 tf axle load with 77.5 t payload capacity and 40 feet loading length.
This model 13-6851 platform is designed to carry wheeled and track vehicles, heavyweight containers and tank containers for non-hazardous freight of the following size types: 1ААА, 1AA, 1A, 1AX, 1CC, 1C, and 1CX with a gross weight of up to 36 tonnes, and specialised containers with a gross weight not exceeding 40 tonnes. The model 13-6851-04 car uses a Class T3 draft gear which enables it to carry containers and tank containers with hazardous freight.
Construction design of the platform provides fatigue strength in the course of the whole 40 years of its service life.
Increased terms of between-repairs run, which provide for the reduction of the freight car life cycle costs by almost 3 times, are a considerable competitive advantage of the platform of model 13-6851/13-6851-04.
