Description

The 12-6995 gondola car is designed for the transport of wood chips on mainline railways with 1,520 mm gauge.

Volume of 211 m3 and enhanced load capacity enable transport of up to 70 tons of wood chips in each car, which is almost 15 tons more than in standard analogues. Owing to the car’s larger load capacity, the number of railcars needed for shipment can be reduced by up to 20%. Its increased maintenance interval of up to 1 million km (or eight years) results in important life-cycle cost savings over the service life of the railcar, which is 40 years. Savings on tariff fees provided by this model together with its increased maintenance interval render the transportation cost per ton of freight much cheaper.

The 12-6995 model was developed so as to be fully compatible with the infrastructure used by both consignors and consignees.
