Tank car for transportation of molten sulphur, model 15-6913
Description
Within the UWC range of tank cars, this is one of the most technically sophisticated models: it features a stainless steel tank, double casing thermal insulation, an air gap for heating the product and electric heating system.
The new generation tank car with the tank made of rust-resisting steel possesses improved technical and economic characteristics in comparison with the analogues available on the market. The undercarriage with an increased axle load and tank space of 44 m³ (+5,5 m³ compared to standard models) provides for the enhanced freight car payload capacity of 72 t (+9 t of extra freight with 1/8 t/m³ solidity compared to mass models). An increased run time between repairs (up to 1 mln km or 8 years) is a significant competitive advantage of the freight car of model 15-6913, which allows cutting down the cost of the freight car life cycle by almost 3 times.

Opinions
Maxim Mironenko, CEO of Gazpromtrans
“United Wagon Company is our partner, and we have several years’ experience using its products. The tank cars for transportation of sulfur successfully passed functional tests at our branches in Orenburg and Astrakhan before they went into serial production. Our decision to make the purchases was based on that experience. We have signed a contract that enables our company to replace rolling stock at the end of its service life with the new generation tank cars”.
